"Matthew spent two days this week plastering a bedroom where a boiler and cupboard had been removed. Very pleased with his work, he met a couple of challenges that arose and charged a very reasonable price. Will use again."

Questions & answers

The plastering FAQ

Everything you need to know before booking Matthew.

How much does plastering cost?+
Prices start from £200 for small jobs. A full room usually ranges from £800 upwards, and Venetian feature walls or whole house work are priced individually. I always give a proper written quote before any work starts so you know exactly where you stand.
How do I get a quote?+
Fill in the quote form, drop me a text or give me a call. If you can send photos of the walls and a rough size, I can often give a good idea straight away. For bigger jobs I'll pop over, take a look and email or text a no pressure quote, usually within 24 hours.
What is Venetian polished plaster?+
Venetian plaster is a decorative, hand burnished finish that gives walls a marble or limestone effect. It is perfect for feature walls, fireplaces and statement rooms. Standard plastering is about getting walls smooth and paint ready, while Venetian work is the artistic top layer that becomes the feature itself.
Do I need to clear the room before you arrive?+
If you can move small furniture, ornaments and pictures away from the walls, that helps a lot. I sheet up the floors, doors and remaining furniture before I start, and I tidy up at the end of every day. I treat your home like it is my own.
What areas around Leeds do you cover?+
I am based in Leeds and cover the whole city plus surrounding towns and villages, including Wetherby, Harrogate, York, Wakefield, Castleford, Pontefract, Garforth, Rothwell, Horsforth and all across West Yorkshire. If you are unsure, just ask.
How long does a plastering job take?+
Anywhere from half a day to a few weeks, depending on the size of the job. I will always advise a realistic timescale up front and work around you and your needs.
Do you do commercial plastering as well as domestic?+
Yes. Alongside domestic homes and renovations I take on commercial work across Leeds, including shop fit outs, offices, cafés, salons and rental properties. Fully insured, tidy, and happy to work around opening hours or tenants.
Are you a local Leeds plasterer?+
Yes. I am Matthew Verity, a Leeds based plasterer running M Verity Plastering (aka The Wall Doctor). I live and work in Leeds and cover all of West Yorkshire.
